It's Not my Birthday

Ok so it's not my birthday (yet) lol, but it could be that you are celebrating one or someone you love.
For this kit, I wanted something that was more grown up. No offense to pink and purple..truly Lilly loves stuff like that (she's 6). But I was thinking what I may like for for a birthday card or page. So I played around and created the Happy Birthday Collection.
Happy Birthday Collection Biggie

  • (16) Bright backgrounds in a mix of textures, floral & other coordinating patterns.
  • (3) 8.5X11 pages of coordinating embellishments with items such as a gift box, rolled paper candles, a paper birthday cake, gold candle cake toppers & more!
  • (2) Gold Trimmed Alpha Sets (These sets includes: All letters, numbers and some punctuation.)
  • (2) 8.5X11 pages of coordinating Word Art Stamps, Tags and gold script numbers.

Note: If you are musical, forgive my design version of the birthday song. And heaven forbid, don't try to play it...LOL it is for visual purposes only & is in no way related to the original copyrighted version. In other words, I just moved notes around to make it look nice & made up my own words. I had to go in and change it all up after an alert from a loyal Scrapgirl. (Thanks Gayle)  Apparently there is some controversy about it and I prefer to stay out of it ;) Who knew?

Happy Birthday Alphas & Word Art (Available ONLY with the Collection)

I also created a perpetual calendar template. It has all the months in it even though the sample only shows June. You can use this digital perpetual calendar template to make a personalized calendar or use as backgrounds & embellishments on your digital scrapbooking or photobook pages.
ScrapSimple Calendar Template: Perpetual 8501
This set comes in a PSD (Photoshop) file format as well as PNG files for users of other image editing programs. Just change the colors & add patterns to create your own version. You can also get the CU License on this set.
  • All Months
  • American & European Weeks
  • Number Buttons (1-31)
  • Grid
  • Week Blocks

Layout ideas:

For a personal touch, use the gold flowers in this paper to add how old the person is.
Gold is hot right now, add fun gold accents for a feel of elegance. The metallic gold birthday candle is fun.

Here's an idea for a birthday card, the cake is included in the kit, just add your own recipient!
Here's another card idea, like the first one, these rolled paper candles are included in the kit.
A kit for all ages.
Sample for the Perpetual Calendar Templates. It is great to use for your Project 52 layouts.
Sample for the Perpetual Calendar Templates. Use the months as page titles.

Well kiddos, that is all I have for this week. I hope you enjoy the new set and have fun making pages and cards with it. Enjoy!

Scrap Girls in the News + Free Inspired Background

This seasons edition of Somerset Memories has a fabulous article written by Debbie Cleek the owner of Scrap Girls and our fearless leader called "Digital Scrapbooking: Trending Now More than Ever".

Plus there are tons of inspiration and fabulous layouts included. These books are like treasures to me. Somerset Memories is probably my favorite industry publication. It's on the newsstands now or you can order your copy by visiting their website: Somerset Memories.

There are layouts by several of the design team too, plus tons of gorgeous layouts from people all over the world. honor of this,  I have created a FREE background inspired by the cover that was comprised of a layout by Heather Jacob. Use this for your personal scrapbooks, art journaling pages or for your photobooks.

Just click the image above to be taken to MediaFire, where you can download this background paper.
Or you can click HERE.

I'd LOVE to see any layouts or creative things you created with the background. If you do and post to any online gallery, please post a link in the comments so I can go and leave you some love on it.

Adore you all to bits...have a great weekend!

Quick Layouts for your Easter Photos

Hello scrapbooking friends. This week I made a set of (5) pre-made layouts for your Easter photos. These were made from the Easter Collection "Easter Sunday". The reason I created these is that there are lots of people who are super busy and just need something fast and easy for their scrap & photo books. My sister Jessica reminds me of this all the time. Lucky for her, all she has to do is give me the photos...LOL

The last book she got at Christmas, she told me she never made it entirely into the house. She flopped down on the floor in the entry and squealed like a 6 yr old, cried & laughed looking through the scrapbook. Now that visual alone is well worth all the time & effort put into making all the pages. I love my baby sister ;) OK enough about moi... here's the Album Pages...
JIFFY Easy Page Album: Easter Sunday

These some in handy PSD layered files for Photoshop users, and drag & drop PNG files for those of you who user other types of imaging programs. All you do is clip your own photo to the masks, change the text and you are finished! Also you can move things around to create your own versions of these layouts.

Here are some samples of my finished layouts....

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! I'm headed back to my design work. I'm trying to put together a birthday collection for adults, well, we'll see how that goes! Until next time...

Cast Shadow Frames 2: Adding Interest to your Layouts

Hello fabulous people! I'm in such a good mood today, it's beautiful outside and the magnolia tree outside my back window is about to bloom for the first time this year! It's still a little too cool to keep the windows open, but the sun is shining in and that is always a good thing here in The Netherlands.

This week I have set 2 of Cast Shadow Frames. This set will allow you to add a bit of visual interest to your scrapbooking layouts and photobooks.

What's the difference? Well, take a look at the image above  Cast shadows can add depth to your layout. Add a little extra light effect from ScrapSimple Paper Templates: Lighting Effects for even more drama.
SS Embellishment Templates: Cast Shadow Frames 2

Basically I needed some new shapes to add to the original set of Cast Shadow Frames. I was missing one basic rectangle and I needed it for a photo for a layout. Then I thought it would be fun to have some of the geometric shapes that are so popular right now, like triangles, hexagons and of course a diamond shape like the one you see above.

The great thing about them is that they are fun and you can use them with any type of layout, from traditional to art journaling pages.

Here are some other samples:

Next week watch for a new Breaking Down the Layout video tutorial on animation in layouts. This is for PS & PSE users so stay tuned! If you would like to see the other videos in this series, you can check out my YouTube Channel.

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter! Next week I will also have some Easter JIFFY layouts for all the pictures you took.

He has risen!
